Eeek! The Heroine trailer is out!!! I have been waiting for this for a really long time now. Let's see how our Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) does in director Madhur Bhandarkar's latest flick!
Kareena is just gorgeous!!! Bebo is back in full form this time around, which is what we expected, considering the genre of film that Bhandarkar typically makes. I'll admit, this trailer does seem to follow the same story line of Fashion, but I don't care because I loved Fashion and I love both Priyanka Chopra and Kareena. Kareena is definitely one of those actresses that has gained beauty over time, and her attitude is spot on! I'm glad that Aishwarya Rai is no longer doing this film (she was initially the main lead) because I think Kareena is the true heroine (considering her background, her beauty, her attitude, and the films that she has done). Also, with Kareena in this movie, the impact is greater because Kareena is one of the reigning queens of Bollywood right now. On to the other actors!
Arjun Rampal seems to be the perfect type of guy for a Bhandarkar film. He has that certain ruggedness and long hair that makes him look like a realistic character. As far as Randeep Hooda, I don't think I have seen much of him, so I'm not sure if he will be a good addition to the film or not. Mugdha Godse seems like she has been typecasted to Bhandarkar cinema. Oh well, I liked her in Fashion!
And on to the widely gossiped about item song, Halkat Jawani! Halkat Jawani is the song that they show Kareena dancing to throughout the trailer, and it's looking pretty good! I really hope that Kareena has stepped up on her dancing (her last attempt at an item song Dil Mera Muft Ka wasn't too successful) because a lot of energy and skill is needed to pull it off. The only thing I have a complaint about is the outfits in the song. They're very similar to ones that other actresses have worn in the past, and I wish that the costume designers had given Kareena something unique to wear. However, if the song is supposed to be part of a movie that they are shooting within the film Heroine then the costumes might make sense. By the way, Salim-Sulaiman are doing the music once again after doing the music for Fashion (which was one of my favorite albums of that year!!!), so I'm expecting the music to be good.
Hummm, so I think it's more important that this film is good critically rather than commercially because this film is an opportunity for Kareena and Bhandarkar to outshine the work they've done in the past. Of course, if commercial success comes along with the critical success, that's all the better. Bhandarkar films are typically not extremely popular among the general audiences (who would rather watch Ajay Devgn or Akshay Kumar crap films), so I hope Bebo pulls the crowds! Do tell on what you think the fate of Heroine and its trailer will be!
Nice preview Chanz! I must say I am intrigued by the film, it seems after the re-emergence of Karishma in Dangerous Ishq, the Kapoor sisters are on the rise again! I just hope it isn't too similar to Fashion... (hopefully the only similarity is that Godse is in it)

Yes, the Kapoor sisters do seem to be on the rise again, and I think Kareena has definitely stepped up her game in the past couple of years. And whether it be similar to Fashion or not, a Bhandarkar film is always successful in showing all that an actress has got to offer, which is why I enjoy his films so much!
