"Saiyaara Main Saiyaara..." Ek Tha Tiger Music Review!

Song: Saiyaara
Film: Ek Tha Tiger
Composer: Sohail Sen
Playback Singers: Mohit Chauhan & Tarannum Malik
This year's Eid release, Ek Tha Tiger, has released its music! Composed by Sohail Sen and guest composer  Sajid-Wajid, and written by lyricist Neelesh Misra, we hope that this album will have the same success that the music from Salman's previous Eid films have had! Let's see what people will be humming this Eid...

Mashallah: This first track in the album, guest composed by Sajid-Wajid, starts out well with the Arabic sounding music, but isn't too great when it comes to the actual chorus (as I mentioned earlier in my post about the Mashallah promo). Singers Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal pull of the song pretty okay; however, I don't believe that this song matches the level of a first track in an album, especially that of a Salman Khan entertainer! The lyrics are the typical for this kind of song, and the Arabic obviously sounds super cool! Listen to Mashallah
Laapata: Ooo, the first song has Arabic music, and this one has Latin music! Nice. K.K. lives up to the expectation of his name in this song, and is supported well by who I believe is female singer Palak Muchhal (who sounds very very similar to Shreya Ghoshal, hummm...). The lyrics are okay, but are overpowered by the good vocals and Latin arrangements. This song is actually a good composition by Sohail Sen, and I can't wait to see Salman and Kat groove to this song! Listen to Laapata
Banjaara: Banjara marks the first song of Ek Tha Tiger which I believe is chartbuster worthy. This song has cool international music as well that sounds like river-dancing (or something along the lines of that!), and it also has some classical Indian music notes (ga ma ga re sa). I'm not a big fan of Sukhwinder Singh's voice, but his singing is amazing in this song! His voice is strong and confident, and it definitely matches Salman's style. Sohail Sen definitely has a winner with this song! Listen to Banjaara
Saiyaara: Sohail Sen scores again with Saiyaara, which is my favorite song of the album. Mohit Chauhan exceeds expectations with this track, and I think this is one his best songs since Rockstar. His higher pitched vocals remind us of why he is so successful in the music industry! Female vocalist Tarannum Malik supports him well, and she's definitely got the mood of the song absolutely right! The lyrics are spot on as well, and yet are unique, since the song is referring to the lovers being planets and eventually meeting in the universe. My favorite line of the song- saaye ye mere hai tujh mein samaaye... Listen to Saiyaara
Tiger's Theme: Not much to say about this track, except that it's a typical theme song track with no vocals. This theme will probably be used well in background scenes of the film, or perhaps in the opening credits of the film.
Mashallah Remix: This song is just a typical remix track and actually isn't too bad, as it's a faster version   of the original, making the Arabic music sound pretty cool.
Laapata Remix: This remix is completely unnecessary, and doesn't even retain the Latin flavor! Definitely skip-worthy.
Banjaara Remix: This Banjaara remix is alright as well, and it's even more dancey than the original! Give this one a try if you like remixes!

Overall, this album is pretty good! I'm not sure if it will match up to the ranks of Bodyguard and Dabangg, but I do believe that the songs will make a good mark in the film and with the audiences. I love that the first three tracks all feature a different international feel to them, and I can't wait to see how those are picturized in the film. We are also lucky enough to hear K.K. and Mohit Chauhan sing in one album (they're two of my favorites singers!) Banjaara and Saiyaara are my picks, and hopefully they see some chartbuster success!
